Title: Plastic intercooler/intake pipes
Post by: rodpaslow on February 26, 2014, 10:52:39 am
How much boost will the standard plastic pipes take?  Does the intercooler survive at 20 psi? (I think standard is supposed to be 8 max)

which model are you talking about? My stock ALH piping/IC is still holding at 22psi. I would think the AHU/1z to be the same.

Yeah, the one I have is a 1Z out of a passat.  Just wondering.  I have a intercooler that is welded aluminum, just wondering if  I should plan on upgrading the plastic tubing as well.

My old 1Z stock setup used to spike 24PSI if the pipes didn't burst then. I think you be fine. They run stock about 12 PSI.
