Title: Brand new in box garret t3 50 trim. Bolt on upgrade!
Post by: Zaro on April 07, 2013, 11:30:08 am
I have a new in box Garret t3 50trim with a .48 ar. This turbo uses the same exhaust manifold as a regular k24/k14/t2 and t3 exhaust manifold. You can use your same 4 bolt downpipe and the same return line flange as a t3 or k24. This will out perform any other 1.6td or aaz with a t3 or k24 all day everyday.

I have no issues shipping, and I can even throw in a manual boost controler kit still in the box as well.

This will fit with the stock intake manifold, but you may have to "shave" a very small amount off of one of the ribs on the manifold. No big deal at all

$500.

what is it off of?  or is the vw trapezoid flange welded on to the .48 turbine housing?

Its a flange built by Blaast performance where the turbo was bought from.

So the inlet flange is welded to the .48 housing?  Just to clarify I mean the trapezoid not the down pipe flange

Normal stock vw T3 has a .42 trim compressor and this is a .50 trim, but has the same exhaust housing as the stock setup so will spool fast and flow more air.  Make sense?

Stock VW t3 is a 35 trim.

The 50 trim is a substantial upgrade!

.42 is the a/r of the compressor housing.  this turbo is a little different than what u said, its still a .42 a/r compressor housing but with a 50 trim wheel which can flow almost 100 more hp than the stock vw 35 trim.  then on the exhaust side it has a larger, .48 a/r turbine housing but with the same wheel.  this one isn't the normal hybrid like i usually recommend, its the same just a little larger on the exhaust side and they welded the vw flange to it.  it's a very good upgrade, might spool slow tho, but with the right set up it shouldn't be bad,  just couldn't expect k14 spool from it.
