Title: Ticketed.....
Post by: Kantdrivefast on July 14, 2009, 03:16:34 am
For being awesome!

Not really...... 118 in a 100, no front bumper, two headlights out, one rear tail light out, no new driver sign displayed.

Drove away with a fix-it-ticket and only a citation for not displaying a new driver sign.

Ticket - 109 dollars

Fix it ticket - 15 minutes worth of work

Driving away without a speeding ticket - Priceless!

HAHAHAH thats good, I had something like that one day with my MK3 but I didn;t get a ticket :P 70 in a 50, smashed windshield, burnt headlight, no turnsignal while turning...and my friend saying when the officer walked up to the car " Now i'm not going to get my friggin Mc Flurry"...The cop wasn't impressed with her choice of words.lol

I love when I get pulled over, "drivers side tail light out" when it's just so sooty you can't see it.

I've had to clean my liscense place because of that..  Unfortunatley we son;t get any sort of paperwork around here to back up that it's supposed to smoke like that..  I just sign my name to the little card saying it was inspected..  I'm surprised they been letting me go on that...

Well, chances are rare getting a speeding ticket in an NA 89 Jetta... ;D ;D

However, one day driving into work, I take the scenic route through Jones Beach State Park, and a State Trooper gets me for a cracked (big crack) windshield.

Told her I was getting it replaced in a week (TRUE!!!), and she then asked me why I drove a hunk of crap.

Her eyes lit up like headlights when I told her I got 40-50+ mpg depending how I drove..

Showed here the non slacking seat belt, and why I couldn't wear it.

She got a chuckle out of it, and let me go.

This was before the new rims, tires, interior and other things done since then. Will be Canada bound shortly for a new engine, head and exhaust mods, carpet, a/c work (Tyler's pal), and my IP 'Gilesfied'.

Tyler is hooking me up big time. With a little help from Bryson.

Guys at my firehouse ask me why I keep an 'old clunker'.

Guess ya gotta love VW's to understand why.

That and rising fuel prices.  They won't stay at these prices forever. JMO.

Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy

LOLOL. I will let you know about this after Tyler does my car and the IP is "Gilesfied".

Then maybe an NA 1.6 can get a ticket on an uphill climb...... We will see. lol

Stay safe,stay well. Jimmy.

School Zone?

My td mutant engine can easily get speeding tickets. it will get to 140 (kmh) damn quick. But any faster it really struggles...
In fact, before i did any work at all it would go 180 on a long straight away now it wont go over 150... any ideas? Up to 180 its about 3 times faster though.

I'm thinking you're lucky this was Clearwater and not Valemont... Mounties from the Valemont detachment have no sense of humor at all. ;)

That, also coupled with the fact that she has pulled me over several times before whilst I was driving friends home drunk... and no prior offenses on record.

67mph in a 55mph up a small mountain...  It's all a straight shot so I got a good run and kept it going..  This was in a slightly molested MK1 though..   A bit less weight to get movin than a MK2...

I got pulled over for no license plate light cause it and the plate were covered in soot. The jetta could get me a ticket now but before it was hard to speed. Dads old rabbit is that way! But it gets awesome mileage thats the best part.

I was pulled over because my plate has a T instead of a date sticker, friggin cop didn't even know it was the new temp sticker. 40 minutes of time on the side of the highway. I asked the cop for his card so I could get my counselor to call and confirm he had indeed made me late to sign my paperwork for my new apprentice card.

I had a similar situation ...

I got pulled over for going 75 in a 70 in a country road in the middle of NOWHERE (chilliwack lake road for you other BC guys) they gave me a citation for the back end being too low, no front plate, my split exhaust, cracked windshield, the colour being wrong on my insurance (painted it that month) and a rear door handle that didn't work.
they also gave me one for having my tires "too close" to the walls of the fender wells when my steering wheel is full lock. they don't rub... these two cops just didn't "like it"
So i had that massive fix it ticket (thankfully no money to be paid) plus a no N ticket, plus the speeding, plus the too many passengers. My girlfriend's twin sister had to drive my car out of that mess... The WEEK before i had failed my full license test for shifting gears in intersections.... if you're first at a red light you're supposed to redline in first through an intersection apparently - that's safer...

So i had 14 days to fix all that sh-stuff. All i did was add three more hangers to my exhaust and when i went to the police station the guy who was supposed to look at my car said "so is the exhaust loud?"
i say solemnly, because i did NOT want to be there,  "no ... not really... the cops just said it 'looked loose'"
and his reply was " and is it still?"
"no" i say
"and this other stuff like the ... something about tires?"
"I got the exhaust shop to look at it [that was a lie - i welded my exhaust my self] and they said it was fine"
"have a nice day" as he turned around and went back into the police station...

oh yeah i forgot to mention... this resulted in my license being suspended when i filed a police report 29 days ago about being a victim of a hit and run. Someone ran a stop sign and hit my rear fender.
That day ICBC had a cop take my license from me in person ... weird eh? at least the other party was found 100% liable and i get $367 for it.
So, 30 days will be up tomorrow. Hopefully I get to break in the new rings this friday.

The other day I was plaing around with me Turbo wastegate and IP and decided to take her for a drive to see how it ran. To my surprise I had done well and it ran a bit nicer then before. Stopped at the stop sign at the end of the street, then turned left, deciding to see how well it gets up to speed. 1st, 2nd and then 3rd, glanced at the speedo and was at about 70 pretty fast. Next thing I did was look up to see Mr. Officer waving me down and signaling for me to pull over. Luckily he was just over the top of a small hill so i couldn't see him as I sped up

Fortunatley for me I new the Officer so I got out of the ordeal with the punishment of 10 Push-Ups.
I luckily avoided and few tickets with this one.

I had my license suspended for not displaying my magnetic "N driver" plate thing and driving gf at the time and her twin sister. In BC if you've only had your license for 2 years you can't drive more than one passenger.
Then my 2 years got reset so even now i still have to display my "new driver" plate although im approaching 21 and i've been driving since i was 16.
tell me how that makes sense...
