Title: Will Mk3 Rear seats fit in a Mk2 Jetta?
Post by: 914turboford on February 11, 2008, 03:41:58 pm
I saw a set of Mk3 Jetta seats real cheap on Ebay. Will they fit in my Mk2 Jetta by any chance? I think I read that the fronts will fit so I'm more concerned about the rear.

the fronts do not fit, the frame rails are to wide. You can swap bases, bend them or cut and weld but the fronts are not a bolt in. I think the rear seat is wider as well, and since mk3 seats fold down in the rear I doubt they are bolt in, definitely a worth while swap though

mk1/mk2 fronts are the same less the seat belt receiver

There are a Few seat swap DIYs over on the Vortex. Like this one for the fronts (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2827431) and some rear seat info too (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1347697)
