BTW, I know that this subject has been addressed on other threads, but in general, what would be needed to complete this engine for mechanical injection?
Thanks! Stan

Hi Stan,
A cummins 4bt pump might be your best bet, 12mm plunger, plenty of fuel :)

Hopefully the lucky buyer will post pics of this TDI swap on this site!

Don't worry Malone, I will.

What are you putting the engine into, RAMMSTEIN?
-
Scirocco mk1 (1975-1981).
It's the lightest watercooled VW made and it's even lighter than the 1959-1979 Beetles...
In stock form it weighs around 825 kg.
Of course I will shed some weight and add a few other goodies...
My guess is mid to low 15's on the quarter mile in stock form.

I wouldn't be surprized if you get into the 14 second range. Let us know!
Find a good shell yet?
-
Yeap, just need money to buy it... :?
-
Scirocco TDI, oh yea. :) Maybe someday I'll get around to doing the same to mine.
Out of curiosity, what trans are you going to use?
Any pics? ;)

I don't belive this to be true. In my SCCA racing class, MKI sciroccos tend to be heavier than equally prepared, 2-door, no sunroof Rabbits. The racing community is split on which is more competitive as a racecar however, because the MKI scirocco has an advantage of lower center of gravity.

I didn't see the replies...
Lord V, I got a 02A CTN (from A3 TDI).
fspGTD, a friend of mine has 2 scirocco mk1 and they weigh around 750kg each.
A rabbit will be around 850kg according to owners I know.
Good news: I just gotta a job at Bell Helicopter.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I have a technical engineering degree. :D
