Title: New Member question help to find a affordable injection pump
Post by: sammy dieseld on June 27, 2017, 09:57:57 pm
Hi I am a new member and I am new to the VW diesel engine,
I am looking for a MTDI pump for a VW alh tdi engine thats affordable.
It is going into a Suzuki Samurai.
When I bought the truck I was told it was a aaz engine,
When I got it home it was the alh with a 1.6 injection pump and it will only run about 50 mph.
So I need a pump any help would gladly be appreciated.
Also if you know a mechanic that is good and willing to work on a conversion in the Richmond VA or surrounding area I am between Richmond and VA Beach.
Thank You

You may not need a complete pump. I'm sure you can do some tuning on it to turn up the fuel. Have you adjusted anything on it yet?

The LR 300TDI pump is a good choice.  The 1.6 pump would take significant internal modifications to perform even close to it.

I recently put a LR pump on my ALH and I was also new to VWs and tdi's. It is an easy swap to just change the pump. Search for what you can and ask questions and you will get it. Everything I have done so far has been easier than I thought it would be.

...of course I haven't started mine yet but...soon.

Matt.
