Title: Late style AAZ pump bracket w/ rover pump
Post by: bbob203 on January 30, 2014, 03:25:32 pm
Instead of getting and ahu bracket machined etc can one use the bracket from the aaz with the alh style pulley?

Well, yes, sorta.  It will work, but is lacking the extra roller between the pump and cam.  While it would likely work just fine, I'd be a little leery.  VW added that roller with the switch to the larger 10mm pump head and the Rover is 11mm.  I'd personally prefer having the extra degrees of engagement.

Ah yes having somebody bore it out vs welding and fabrication. I'll just pay someone a few shillings to bore it.

I'm helping my friend with an ahu swap into a eurovan weekender and he opted for the 11mm alh pump. Promted me to find out if anyone had ever tried that configuration.
