So I just picked up a BEW tdi and the cam lope has Been flattened but bottomed is fine. So I was thinking can you add a alh head to the BEW block and run the injction pump braket on it with all accessories then add a mtdi pump to it.would that work? It Is this going to be drop into a mk1 rabbit. I'm might keep then head and have the cam swapped and maybe doing the howl BEW swap but just kinda want the little guy going for now. Also would a o2o bolt to the engine aswell

I have not done so but I'm going to say yes. If memory serves, I read of someone who replaced an ALH block with a BEW block. The mTDI would then be easy.

ALH head will bolt to a bew block just fine. I'm 99.9% sure the ALH accessory bracket will bolt on also. But BEW valves are sunk flat in the head. So unless you pocket the pistons, or sink the ALH flush with the head, you'll have P2V contact.
As for the side engine mount, I've never tried. My bew is in a ski boat.

See I was wondering that. Thank you for letting me now do you know how much I have to shafe off the piston to except the alh head? Would it be easyer to just do the whole BEW swap with wiring harness and computer ext?

Or can alh tdi piston be installed on a BEW rod.

Yep, you can put ALH pistons on PD rods, just not the other way around.

Ok so I have been looking into pocketing the BEW pistons to except the alh head and I can't find measurement on how much should be machined off the piston. Dose anyone know how much should be taking off the BEW piston to except the ALH head so there's no piston to valve interference!

Its not a static number, hence why no one can reply. What you are effectively asking is the following formula:
Piston protrusion - OEM BEW piston valve pocket depth - gasket thickness (I,II, or III hole)= Distance valves can protrude from head in TDC.
Next measure the valve protrusion from the head without the cam installed and subtract the above from it. This will tell you if the valves will contact when just assembling the head. If there is no room left then you will need to machine the valve pockets out. If there room left read on.
Ok so up till this point you know you can assemble it, but you haven't accounted for the camshaft. The camshaft, valve, valve springs, and hydrolic lifter turns rotational energy into linear energy based on the camshaft profile. you need to identify what lift your cam has at lower degrees of rotation and account for the valves moving faster or farther open than the pistons move. I have typically used .010-.030" clearance for static (without camshaft) clearances and then added around .030" for the valves depending on the profile. The key here is you need to have clearance at all times including after thermal expansion comes into play.
