ok, here for sale is a nearly complete turbo swap for a 1.6 diesel

KKK turbo, minimal shaft play
injection pump. no leaks, works well
oil pan
oil baffle
oil return line
intake tubes
intake manifold
fuel lines
MK2 TD airbox
a container full of associated nuts and bolts

I believe that this is a complete swap, save the oil feed line and the oil filter flange

I'm in Oklahoma, I'm not driving to Ontario just to get a turbo (as nice as that would be)...Traverse City to Sudbury was bad enough. If you were shipping I'd buy it.

I'm pretty sure we all are. Luckily, however, I found a quantum that has a 1.6 TD in it, so I think I might just buy it. Thanks all the same.

Are these parts that just came off working cars?

Or is there any known rebuild history on the turbo and injection pump?

I wonder what turbo would suit my jetta better which has a t3.

K24 and T3 are basically identical, there isnt really a BETTER turbo out of those 2, they are about exactly the same. sunno if you would notice a difference even, going from a T3 to a K24..

With my tranny and the stock tires I believe I am around 3000 rpm on the tach @ 70mph on the freeway which is where the car mostly gets driven.  I don't have a problem with the way the car acts in gears 1-4, you can go crazy with the pedal if needed but otherwise cruise around nicely compared to my little compact gas ford :)

But in fifth gear  at 70mph the car pretty much needs to be on flat ground for me to stomp on the pedal, car ramps up, then speeds off and starts pulling in higher rpms.  Wasn't sure if that could be helped by a different turbo or not since the fifth gear experience is different than the others.

I have barely kept the car at 65mph with a couple people in it going up a moderate long hill, but it just stays put and won't pull any better in fifth gear.  Not a big deal but if I could do something about it I would :)

SOLD

And I highly reccomend going with a smaller turbo on a 1.6 td. with the k24, boost starts to rise at about 3000rpm, but with the k03, it starts around 1400rpm. IMO, the k24 is too big for a 1.6. I have driven the same car with both turbos, and I much prefer the smaller one. Even though the max boost output of the smaller turbos is limited, the increase in driveability makes it worth it IMO. My k03 puts out 18psi, which is plenty for me.
