Title: 1Z TDI swap 85 jetta (jenny)
Post by: big dipper on September 15, 2016, 12:38:31 am
hi dudes! im busten out a swap project and im looking for a little help, been searching the forums and learning alot but there are some problems ive run into that have turned into a bit of a hurdle. i have the motor and trans sitting on the MK2 subframe on the stock mounts (which im cool with) but the 1Z has a serpentine belt and a v belt with the v belt on the outside running the water pump and power steering pump. my car does not have power steering, but it does need a water pump. so one of the problems im having is the pulley on the crank shaft rubs the wrinkle zone and i cant get the motor to move over any further to the drivers side  ??? has anyone been here that could give me some advise?

Do you have AC? If not there's a belt configuration that uses the serpentine to drive the water pump and alternator. No need for a v-belt at all if you go that way.
