Title: 1.6td Clutch
Post by: homerj1 on December 08, 2014, 09:58:42 am
Finally will be putting a 5speed (ff code) from a mk1) into my 84 Jetta with a 1.6td & wanted to confirm my clutch options.

1. Buying a new 200mm clutch & pp & use my used 1.6td flywheel.
2. Buying a new 210 mm clutch & using my used aaz flywheel & pp
3. Any other options?

I would like to keep it simple and reliable & sort of affordable on the pocket book.

And what do I need to look for physically on the parts if I use a "used" pp and flywheel?

was thinking

The 210mm is strange because during the mk3 era they changed the PP and flywheel a little. It's described in the mk3 Bentley. Basically just keep the PP and flywheel for the same car year. Just keep an eye open for that.

There are single pin and dual pin flywheels, I ran into that.

thats a great price on that clutch kit, another 50 bucks to get the fly wheel resufaced and you're good to go.
