There are a couple differences depending which year the car was but this should help you out with those lonely connectors with no homes.
-
yea doesnt make any sense to me. alot of them i cant find the color combination. not the orange wires could be yellow.. but still dont seem to find correct one..
-
Can you take a picture of the connectors and post?
-
ya i can do that. ill go out a littlelater and take pics. currently just and a foot of snow dumped on us :(
-
here we goo..pics.
First one. these ones are togather and are up towards the rain tray. ones n75 maybe?

And this big one is under my dash.. no idea what it is for.. because there are no connectors there to plug into it
(http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/xxkoadyxx/20130317_163923_zpsff193349.jpg)
This 3 wire one (this part is from a passat tdi harnesss..)

not sure if these pictures are clear enought.. my car is a 93 golf 1.9TD with a TDI swap.. The harness is NON AC and my car had AC so that has to be deleted.. Also does anyone have a diagram for the vacume lines? the ones that come off the brake booster? and boost lines?
thanks very much guys :-*

Sell off the etdi stuff and go mechanical :D. A2resource.com is very helpful.

And this one... its for the AC/Fans but i dont have the male part anywhere.. and when i connect the black/red wires togather the fans work.. if not they dont..

d d shape looks like it's for 02 J transmission reverse light switch connector trying to see if you can trace it back and see if maybe somebody splice that 1 in somewhere. a lot of those connectors only have 1 mate.
-
This is a power wire (not fused) I can tell because its Red without a stripe
(http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/xxkoadyxx/20130324_142456_zps25e984e1.jpg)
the yellow connector wires are for the airbags IIRC
This is for the CEL and it needs to go to a junction box with the other grey/white wires (one for the cluster, one for the OBD-2 plug)
I think this is for the alarm module plug, most people by-pass it by connecting the two large starter wires together:

hmm alright. helps. but that last one with the big connector is for the fan controls.. but it doesnt plug into anything and my fans dont work onless i jump the big black/red wires togather. my car doesnt have airbags soo i dont have to worriy about that. gonna go out tomorrow and look into that little brown connector and see what that goss now that i have an idea.
-
Take a look at these pics: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=380745
-
yaa my car does not have that many relays.. mine dont have ac,or abs. or airbags. hmmm
-
well, i got it running! now i have a couple problems now... glow ug light is flashing? oil pressure light is one, and coolent.. now i think i maaay have hooked up the coolent temp sensors wrong? one on flange and one on the top rad hose? also i had to jump 12 volts to the cut off as the glow plugs and the cut off didnt get power with key on... so once i jumped 12v to cut off, glow plugs worked and cut off.. anyone know why? also when i take the hand brake off, my gauge cluster shuts off.... also now i seem to have a brake fluid leak as the brake pedal goes to the floor and i added a full bottle to the resivor and same... not sure where its leaking as no signs yet..having a closer look today..
-
Wowza.. Shoulda went mechanical ;)
That is a whack ton of issues, I got my whole E setup running on the stand prior to getting the swap on the move. Last second though I scored the ability to go M-TDI and sold off all the electronics.
Weird that you are having SOO many issues pop up.

Do you have access to a scan tool? Any obd2 scan tool should work for retrieving codes and finding out what codes you have will tell you why the glow plug light is flashing. Make sure you're getting power through the 109 relay. It sounds like you have a main power feed that might have been over looked. Be careful though because the cut off solenoid is not powered all the time when the key is on and engine not running. It turns on when the key is in the on position and will time out after a short period of time then turn on again when you crank the engine over. Sounds like the cluster isn't grounding properly and is using the e-brake switch for its ground. You will figure out where the brake fluid is going. It will show itself. Pull the carpet back around the pedals and make sure it's not wet there. You got it running so you're almost there.
-
I agree looks like a power feed is overlooked. Or perhaps a ground for one of the power feed relays.
The coolant light will come on if the coolant reservoir is low or unplugged. Make sure you plug the blue coolant connector to the blue coolant sensor. Make sure the sensor is new, it's essential to the ecu or fuel mileage will suffer. The one on the rad hose is for the gauge (if its not blue)
Good luck
-
ya soo i dont have an obd port.. never came with my harness so no way of checking for codes.. figured out why the glow plugs werent working and the fuel cut off.. didnt have the #109 relay in the fuse panel... but now i got bigger problems...

*** this is starting to get on my nerves :'( one thing after another... also got a bad brake line.. :'(
-
Was that video supposed to be something other than a good running DI engine? lol
Congrats on getting it running.
-
ya.. theres a really loud clunking sound.. not sure if you can hear it. i k.ow i can.
-
I hear no clunk.. is it the exhaust vibing against the body somewhere?
-
naa i really dont thinm so cause the noise gets louder as you rev the car.. but ill check anyways..
-
Do you mean the engine clack? Because the DI does clack way more than the IDI.
-
yes.. but the first couple times i had it really it was quiter.. then out of no where it got louder.. check my other vids on photo bucket
-
Very true b'y.
I dunno man, something loose somewhere and knocking about I would think. Do you have sufficient oil pressure?
-
im not sure..all i know is, is that the oil pressure ligbt is on and the glow plug light.. so i have no idea if thats cause something is wired wrong or if there is a problem... and i dont have the tools to check the pressure.. :(
-
Lol. Then you need to stop running it until you know for sure. It'd be a pity to find out this is all for not don't you think?
-
yup! i have a guy who worked on vw deisels at a garage for awhile hopfully coming by tomorrow to have a look.. hopfully.
-
alright soo no metal shavings or nothing loose inthe bottom end.. maybe injection bump??
Also who on here has EGR delete on there tdis? if so how did you "hose" up yoour n75?
-
Sorry no idea on the N75.. the older 1Z/AHU like I have had no such thing until the ALH.
It is likely the timing is whacccccck.
-
There is a valve similar to the n75 valve on the ahu but it has nothing to do with the egr. But, there is an egr solenoid that is basically the same in design. The only real way of deleting the egr without causing a fault is to have the egr deleted by remapping the computer.
-
Ok i figured out the idle and reving issuse.. Now another question.. My car used to be a 1.9td and now where im going tdi, do i need to change the cluster harness also? Cause i am not getting any temp gauge..
-
temp sensors changed from 1.9TD to 19TDI I believe. My TDI one was a 4 prong plug..

I' don't remember exactly if the temp gauge work with the AHU sensor, but the RPM will not if you pick it from the ECU. You need an AHU cluster or reflash the little chip in your AAZ cluster with an AHU cluster files. I can give you the files if you can or have someone to do it.
In the case you want to trouble shoot, I have the current flow diagram for those cluster.

Ok guys. Got it running and driving it around.. But car seems like something is holding it back when i give it.. Half throttle or a little throttle and itll slowly get up to speed.. Heres a video.. Im leaning towards a bad maf..

If you can get it scanned, you'll have your answer or at least a direction to go in. It might be your maf but without scanning it it's just a guess. It could be your map as well. Did I read somewhere that you don't have an obd2 port?
-
No i do not have an obd port. I bought one but have to splice it in... Also i must add that there is no smoke at all.
-
Make it a priority to hook up that obd port. There's very few wires including a power and ground and once hooked up you can retrieve codes with any obd2 code reader. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I remember only three wires on the VW side of the obd port needed. Power, ground, signal.
-
Wired up obd port and didnt work.. So i went back and rewired it agian and havent been able to use an obd scanner yet agian.. Also i just replaced the maf and that didnt really seem to change to much really.. Soo next thing is to change fuel filter.. Also could a muffler cause problems? Or is there no way that could happen? Running out of ideas on what it could be..
-
You need to breakout a multimeter and make certain you have all of the connections put together for the diagnostics.
-
What are you using to scan it with? Not all readers can handle VWs. My cheapo unit couldn't anyways.
-
all the maf does is operate the egr anyways...
-

The MAF does a little more than operate the EGR I have two that were accidentally damaged in different manners and they both screwed up different things. Once caused crazy boost pressures and the other cause the car to smoke like a coal train with other drive ability issues.
