Title: 2004 Jetta TDI wagon HVAC issues
Post by: Bdur on November 21, 2020, 02:49:06 pm
Hello,
I have a 2004 Jetta TDI Wagon and I have been having trouble with the HVAC controls.
When I select fan speeds 1 and 2, the AC indicator light lights and it looks like the compressor clutch engages, but the fan doesn’t operate. If I go to fan speeds 3,4, the fan motor runs as normal but the AC indicator turns off/compressor drops out.
I tried replacing the HVAC/fan speed control module, checked fuses with no luck.
Anyone who could give me some guidance on what else to check would be much appreciated. I would like to check the obvious before having to take it to a shop.
Thanks in advance!

I am of no help here. With coastal temps generally in the 60's and no AC in either VW I just roll down the windows and hope for the best on a hot day.
