Title: So I FINALLY did it
Post by: BellCityDubber on August 08, 2010, 08:57:17 pm
so after a year of having the TD's pump and injectors done, I FINALLY managed to get it down the track
and it ran a 17.5s pass.... probably 16s in the right hands.

here's the slip

R/T....534
60'......2.712
330.....7.568
1/8th...11.416
MPH.....66.13
1000.....14.743
1/4.......17.532
MPH......82.47

This was a cold night (awesome) with a greasy cold track surface (not awesome) so it was hard as hell to hook up (I spun first.. TWICE, AND second - there's that torque) and I still dont know how to launch the clutch properly...

The car weighs somewhere up in the 2500 with the stereo, some tools, and the spare in the trunk.. so we'll say 2550

so by the calculators I've got 110 hp to the flywheel.
I would imagine more if I got a "perfect" run out of it.

Still, I'm at now, where my GTI WAS before I put the head and headders on it.

Lower times comming.... watch this space.

Nice numbers! I'm kinda curious what a factory td would do...
What chassis do you have anyway? Mk2?

Yes, mk2...
and it's not exactly stock
that's a giles superpump, matched injectors by giles, and a large FMIC setup running 25 psi with a 4 puck unsprung clutch hub and upgraded pressure plate

so no.... not stock
