Spruce thermocouple
« on: December 31, 2008, 07:08:49 pm »
I thought I would go ahead today and get that Spruce thermocouple for my engine I'm putting together and on their site it is now almost $53 and the extension lead is about $32 for their short one. I Didn't order it yet though, I was thnking they were only like $26  for the thermocouple and didn't even need the lead because I thought it's wires were long enough to begin with, I thought I read 7 foot somewhere.  Have any of you all bought one recently :?:   If that's what it is I guess I'll just get it. I don't even have a gauge yet and am just getting things ready for Spring.  Any recomendations for one that's pretty reasonable that you've tried with this thermocouple?  I'm afraid of the Chinese ones but it doesn't have to be {SPACE SHUTTLE} grade either    The thermocouple was what they call their Universal K style 86255, MM111 on their site and looks like the pics of others I've seen here.  I have to learn how to do the posting pics and links thing too.  I am grateful though that I can at least get this far, half my friends my age {early Fogeydom} can't use a computer at all.  I'd probably be better off if I couldn't either

The Micro-1000 EGT probes at Aircraft Sprice are now $31.75 and the lead extensions are $11.75.

Thanks for the information, I was looking at the other style ones on a different page at Spruce's site and never saw these.  That seems like a pretty good price to me.  I didn't think  they would have went up that much in price, I was just looking at the wrong one.  I'm going to get it with the 7' lead and keep looking for a gauge, again thank's :D
