hi.
i was curious how fast your stock turbo diesel's are. mine does around 100-105 top-top speed, and easily manages 90.
my acceleration is strong and smooth, baring shifting. i dont know what my numbers are.
anyone have more infos? more curious than anything.
i have a na diesel but iv gotten it up to 103. it wassent happy going that fast
i took my old '86 TD up to 160, and there was still pedal left. it drove fine at those speeds (new bearings, struts/shocks, and alignment, although it could have used some new balanced tires)
i'd have to say that 180 would have been possible for sure. although oil consumption at those speeds is quite a bit, so just stick with 100-120 and you're fine.
my jetta TD managed 190km/h back in the fairly stock days.
oops, forgot that this forum is mostly metric measurements. i said 100 MPH, which is 160 kph.
I knew my TD was underfueled because I had reduced fueling quite a bit when I replaced the head but I didn't think it was that bad, yesterday it topped at 135kph :? Time to play with the pump
I think somewhere around 170kph, but it revs so high that I donīt dare to push it further
OT: I had a Mercedes 220D -71 that had a top speed of 130kph and I drove 900km in 9h 30 min, going 120-125 for most of the time!! Thatīs pretty good for an old diesel..
i've topped out at 190km/h, downhill with the wind at my back. It physically wouldn't go any faster. I was scared ***less
