I was looking at the ID number on the bottem of my transmission. This is off a 1985 Golf NA 5-Spd.
It is kind or hard to read, it is rubbed up pretty good.
It looks like A8H (guess it must be ACH) 11074.
What do the numbers signify?

"Making the jump NA to TD" slow but sure.

ACH is stock trans for 1985 model year diesels both n/a and turbo. The numbers represent a date code like day/month/year only one digit for year (4)
