If you head up north to winnipeg theres this:

Thanks for the lead, but I'm actually going Fox so I can get a smaller car and a stick while still getting a wagon.  :D  I love wagon body styles, and the two-door, manual transmission, longitudinal Fox really strikes a sweet spot in what passes for my soul, ya know?

One of those cars that you look at it the first time and you are just BAM, "I LOVE THIS CAR." type deals.

I know what you mean.
 There is a Fox wagon south of here, with the rear smashed a little, and a  parts wagon in a local salvage yard to patch it up with, it has a little rust but I really like it... I mean REALLY.
 I've stopped by a couple times but haven't caught him home.... it's parked out back by the other cars now so I might be able to get it cheap,... and my buddy got a quantum TD that kinda runs, sorta.
 I smell a future project, if I can get some of the other projects out of the way.

Well, on the recommendations of several people on this board and Vortex, including the seller... I'm going to let this one go.

However, Duane, I'd still like to talk to you about that engine you're selling; I might be able to take it off your hands still, and put it in that Dasher I have back home. Willing to pallet it up and get it to a shipper?

In western NY
Jetta: '91 EcoD, Golf '85 naD, 2 engines: 1.5, 1.6 unknown condition
Have Truck... can haul
Could even justify a business trip to SC

I'm guessing the EcoD and the '85 Golf are motors with cars still attached?

Where in Western NY are you, out of curiousity?

Yes, EcoD and 85 are complete cars. Also have 2 engines of untested quality.
Location = Niagara County

Really doesn't matter if it runs right now or not, really I just need the bottom end assembly to be freely rotating. The engine in the Dasher has a couple of seized pistons, likely from sitting so long out in the backyard of some house somewhere, but the head is good, injectors aren't corroded to it, pump seems to be good and pumps fuel.

I'd swing by and pick it up, but alas, if I cannot find a Fox Wagon to pick up, I'll be going home via Greyhound. I don't really need the car, so I can afford to be picky about what I buy type-wise. I've fallen in love with the Fox Wagon, and I think it would make a beautiful base car for my diesel-powered hypermileage project.

I'll give you a call at some point though, maybe we can work something out? When would be a good time to call you?
