Valves, 1.9idi and 1.9tdi, are they the same?
« on: July 21, 2007, 11:06:32 am »
Does anyone know if there is interchangability between the 1.9 idi and tdi cylinder head valves?  I know there are two sizes for the idi, will either of these work in the tdi?  What about the other way around, tdi valves into idi head?  Just wondering about parts availability for 1.9idi heads in the US.  It would be nice to be able to use common parts.

"Making the jump NA to TD" slow but sure.

Nope, TDI valves are slightly larger and the stems are slightly longer.
