Anti-Theft annoyance
« on: July 21, 2007, 04:27:50 pm »
The battery terminals on my new-to-me 1994 Jetta diesel looked really grubby, so I took them all apart, wirebrushed everything, added some dielectric grease and reassembled.  Now the anti-theft horn beeps all the time.  I can't find any remedy in the Bentley.   I can't leave the wire off the connection assembly because that also powers up the ignition system, apparently.  Any suggestions other that pull off the covers and windshield wiper assembly to get to the stupid horn?

Put your key in the driver door and turn it twice in the clockwise direction. I don't think the door has to be closed

That did the tric, sort of, Burn.  Thanks.  I had to use the passenger front door because the electrical connector to the driver side is broken and disconnected.  But that shut off the horn.
