I have an IHI turbo Charger that I dont want to blow the seals out of due to oil pressure, its a ball bearing turbo with variable vanes. My issue is that I have blown the seals on two of them and am down to my last one, I am going to put a flow restrictor in because right now when the engine is fully warmed up and cruising down the road I carry 40 psi its 15w40 rotella and I am in the arizona heat of 100 degrees
I have a .055 restrictor but read somewhere that a .035 would be better
thanks in advance for the help

is your oil drain flowing well enough?
on oil drains,yes,bigger is better
im usin a -10 on even a stock td setup
oil drain will not be a problem this time, i am sure that was part of the problem last time since I had a banjo fitting to try and get me by, I guess that I will just start with the .035 and check the oil pressure going to the turbo and bumb up in size from there iff needed
I was just worried since my engine will put out over 80 psi at the head and I didnt want to burn up the seals on a perfectly good turbo again

I dunno if this will help, and you might have seen this already, but on the ATP website they list a .035" restrictor for their Garrett ballbearing turbos and a .060" restrictor for thier plain bearing ones.
