hook them both together and then to 12v ignition. the pump wire closer to the flywheel is for the fuel feed. the pump wire closer to the crank is suppose to be for better fuel economy less power.

asau, how do you mean the pump wire closest to the flywheel?? and wire closest to the crank??? sorry buddy i dont follow you the two wires what are coming from the back of the fuel pump are the same lenght???, could you explain in what you mean if we are talking about the same 2 wires,, if you look at the end of the fuel pump where all the injector pipes bolt on to the fuel pump, in the middle of the pipes, are 2 wires coming from the middle of the injector pump,, the colours of the 2 wires i think are black and green, any clues or still hook them both up to the 12v ingnition feed?? thanks for your advise so far daz

MK3 GTD:
He is referring to the stop solenoid and timing advance wires, which i dont think is what you meant.
Are the two wires you mentioned going into something that threads into the pump head like a sensor?

I have never seen a vw diesel pump that had wires there, its usually just a plug bolt.

That hole is used to thread in a dial indicator to time the injection based on plunger position inside the pump.

in the pic on the injection pump there are 2 wires, one with a hard white plastic covering the injection pump, and another with black. the white one is the fuel cut off switch the black one is the economy one.

sorry about the pic the best i have that is already online
