Synth is much better at higher temps than conventional, and less likely to coke up in the turbo. It has a higher film strength, hence the reluctance to recommend it for breaking in an engine. It flows better in the cold. If you leak oil, it will leak out more readily than conventional.

some of the synthetics are really good as in they can increase mileage.

i notice a difference when using dino and then switching to synthetic.  i also notice a huge difference in power when the oil turns black :(

with elf oil you can pretty much change your oil every year.  that offsets the high cost, and the benefits are a bonus.

$4 a gallon! Only in my dreams can i get diesel that cheap. 96-97p per litre over here in the UK, thats $7.76 per US gallon (4 litres, i think!). Time to invest in some eggs i think.

I might go for a manky old egg thats been left in the sun for a few weeks rather than a fresh one. If ever i needed an incentive not to break it that would be it. At least it would hide the faint smell of dog i get when i lift the rear seats!

3.786 liters per US gallon, 4.546 liters per Imperial Gallon.

And yeah, the nasty, rotting egg would be more incentive not to break it than a fresh egg.
