it would be foolish for pp to stop making DP's... i think pp is not making anymore 'cheap' dp's...  which is understandable, since the quality and the fitment of the dp's make them more valuable.

i guess it's just pure and simple economics... manufacturing costs (labour etc...), materials, and even supply and demand.  high demand could potentially decrease the cost if the supplier could mass produce.

how much would jsperformance charge for a dp of similar value?

Well I had a good talk with Dave and it just sounds like he has gotten big enough that making them isn’t profitable anymore. Reason being he now has employees and more overhead (steel costs as well). Back when it was just him is wasn’t to bad but cost have gotten higher for him to produce them.

I asked him if he could just get me some flanges and I'll build my own DP.
Next time he fires of the cuttin machine he will hopefully burn some extras out for those of us that want or can build our own.

$500 for a DP?  I'd say worth it if it comes with ceramic coating :)

$500 bucks?

I dont think so, can get an entire SS exhaust system built for less than that.

$200 maybe $250 for the DP is liveable, $500.00 no freaking way!

pay for quality though... plus you are thinking in USD... (although USD & CDN dollars are pretty damn close now..)

what is the quality of the SS exhaust???

All mandrel bent, quality work. mufler included if required.

I see no need for stainless just making a point is all. I'll be doing aluminized steel.

Talked with Dave.  They might be coming again.  He is looking at some new technology to help with costs.  I am sure he will post an update when he gets his info.

i'm sure they will be built again by someone, but I'm looking for one now and they are not being built thus the reason for this thread.
Patience is not one of my strong points.
When I'm building a car I like to do it right and I like to do it once. I'm just bumed my build won't have a PP down pipe
