for a shop it does sound reasonable... considering the labour required! plus... if the engine breaks afterwards you can blame it on them and they'll have to get you a new motor
yeah right, good luck pulling that off, especially at a dealership.
I did live in sudbury a few months ago and would have done your timing belt for alot cheaper then that. If you don't have AC I might consider doing it, send me an IM.
I have heard several complaints about the Sudbury dealer, nothing specific though.
seen it happen before. they replaced timing belt, then a little along the way it broke. then they repaired everything. put a new head on, new pistons... refreshed the whole damn motor and guess what??? yup they wrecked that motor too! so they then just payed out the guy and he kept the broken motor & passat. my mechanic friend got it for cheap, fixed it and sold it for about $5500... i almost bought that thing
So the VW shop will warranty the timing belt? how long is the warranty for if it breaks??
So should I look into taking the car someplace else to get the timing belt done. Apparantly there is a smaller shop that deals with Audi/VW at the other end of town, maybe I can check there...but I'm wondering if they will warranty it if it breaks
oh and thanks for the offer of doing it...but I do have A/C
I'm sure the dealer knows how to do the belt. I was trying to remember exactly what the complaints about the dealer was and I think it related to not being able to find part numbers on ETKA and then needing to wait crazy long times to get the parts. I don't recall any complaints about the quality of the work that they do.
I've read about changing the fuel pin to increase power? Is this simply adding more fuel to the engine? Would it increase power as well as Milage?
here is a good starting point to more power from your IDI.
