Hey Scully, if/when you plan to have any bio making gtg's this summer let me know

We just convinced a friend to buy an older Golf diesel, he absolutely LOVES it.
Now he's getting right
juiced up about making biodiesel LoL.
Told him about your setup, directed him to appleseed plans, and he's raring to go
He was commuting an hour each way in a V8 Dakota, now can't believe the $$ he was wasting
PS Rabbit looks good...didja get the rear bearings replaced yet?

that's one thing i dont get with people... most of them think they need to drive some big beefy vehicle to feel safe, or because its comfortable...
the money some of these people would save, could probably help shave 5 years off their mortgage or whatever...

Scully,
I didn't read the entire thread, so this may not help. Make sure the radio antenna is sealed where it goes through the inner fender. If it isn't, it will pour water right into the fuse box.
BTW- sweet car.

bert,
you probably don't want that turbo diesel steering wheel center any longer. So, I'll take it if you like.
I've said it many times. The interiors of the Euro spec golf mk1s was so much nicer than the US spec golfs mk1 (rabbits) we received here.

Why are they much nicer? This is a shot of my Westy Caddy. It's the same right down to the Turbodiesel horn cover

comes down to personal preference i suppose. i find the US rabbit/caddy interiors to resemble oldsmobile interiors of similar age.

everything is different. the dash is totally different the instruments are different and everything. the westy cluster is alot harder to read, and is also much uglier imo. they are similiar but really different. the euro dash has more storage with all the shelfs and stuff too. and the interior just has a better feel imo.

Westy dash: round headlight switch, round cold start knob, lever switch for fan.
German dash: rectangular headlight switch, rectangular cold start knob, rotary switch for fan.
Owned em both.

Ahh, now I see it. I guess I was overlooking the small details.
Thanks
