selling my diesel rabbit

This is painful for me. I'm buying a house, and should get rid of one car.
This rabbit came from arizona a couple years ago. It has a little over 60,000km's. The body is excellent. The interior is well used, a couple cracks on the dash, and features scirocco 16v seats. plain jane am/fm tape deck. It had A/C (can't imagine how slow it must have been with the A/C running on a hot desert day!) which has been removed, but the center dash vents are great for distributing heat around the cabin.
It's running a 1.5L now, with a tweaked injection pump. Runs and drives great, but it's an older engine, and usually needs the block heater for cold mornings. This old honey would be sweet with a fresh TD engine! It has Boge gas shocks, eibach pro kit springs and 195/60r14 potenza RE930's (with enough rubber for one more summer). This car corners on rails! It runs and drives great, the transmission shifts like butter. It has euro A-pillar fairings, and H4 headlights. I'd like to see it used as a summer driven only, hot-rod TD project car. I can help the buyer a great deal to this end. But a swap to gas isn't that bad. Main point: I'd hate to see it used as a beater, because it's not a beater.
These old wabbits are getting hard to find in such good shape.
I'm looking for the best offer over $1000 cdn.

Really sweet car.  Trying to talk my girlfriend into it.  ;)  (not for me, but for her!)  Is it a 4-speed or 5-speed?  Think she'd make it 366 miles to Mt. Vernon, OH?  (after my 430 mile road trip in my unstable-at-best Scirocco, I have little doubt!)

Too bad you have to rid of it.  I hope she finds a good home.

it's a five speed. I have no doubt that it could make the haul.  It drives great once you get it fired up.

I wish I were a bit more flush right now, I'd snap it up. I've got a fresh 1.9TD that would fit right in...

For the record, I wouldn't drive her in winter, the passat will be winter equiped (studded tires, espar, the works), it would be a second car, 2 seasons and a half a year.

I'll be out of school in may....

Only then I'll have the space (ie garage) to have 2 cars... :D

Until then, the passat is miserably parked on the street, downtown Montreal... :x

Curious, is this an American rabbit, or a german one? I'd love to have it too, but reality tells me I don't need any more toys...............

There's a 1.6TD in need of a rebuild out in my toolbox(45 foot van body)......................
