Another quick pump question - 1.9 VE
« on: December 26, 2004, 03:59:38 pm »
Guys,

There was a post i saw recently about the conversion of a N/a pump using a the boost enrichment device from a peugoet pump. Would it be possible to retro fit the boost enrichment device onto my 1.9L N/a pump from the 1.9L TD pump, and if so, would it then be to the same specification as the 1.9L TD pump ?

Thanks in advanc, DM.

What internally does the LDA attach onto, i'm going to see my fuel system guy now. He's against all this sort of thing though, only likes to go by the number of the original parts he replaces, but i'll see what he says.

Was the final spec of your pump the same as an AAZ VW 1.9L ? piston size etc.. the same ?

I just left the AAZ pump to my fuel guy today. Only £60 to rebuild, so i'm just going to use as it is.

However, i had hoped to modify my 1.9L boost pin to match the 1.6L GTD pin. I have use of CNC milling and turning centres etc... what needs to be done to my 1.9L pin to match the 1.6 pin ? I compared the two pins a while ago but cant remember the exact difference.

Lastly, from what i can remember, the 1.9L TD pin just clamps down on the rubber seal. The 1.6L GTD is similar, but its boost pin is resting in a gear type arrangment and is marked with 2 arrrows. So it seems the 1.6L has some adjustment compared to the 1.9.

If you have any idea how this operates, i would be greatful if you could tell me how.
