I love my 01 powerstroke I beat the piss out it everyday!  I run the thing on Veggie oil and Biodiesel no fuel system problems 130,000 and counting! The 6.0 ps is a piece of do-do.

consider yourself lucky... but if you change the oil & run good oil when needed, you shouldn't have too much issues.

my brother bought a truck from the company he worked for... a 2001 with around 400'000km or so.  truck still ran really hard.  company just didn't want to deal with a repair (it was running a bit odd).  turns out an injector got clogged from them not changing the oil often enough.  $1800 later  :shock: it ran like a champ!  it was the 450 super duty version btw  8) ... off the line he smoked this kid in a honda lol... getting your ass handed to you by a cube van would suuuuckkkk  :lol:

i think he payed something like $10'000 for the truck, and ended up selling it for $16'000 with it all cleaned up and logo's etc and buffed (didn't help that some of the battery's in the back were leaking  :roll:)  not a bad profit!

if i were to keep a truck like that, bypass filtration would be the only way...
