The governor said the converted car's emissions of greenhouse gases will be 50 percent lower.

diesel engine into a 1965 Chevy Impala.
But running clean and green isn’t the only bonus, since the Duramax in the Impala is running on the biodiesel, it boosted the engine power to 800-horsepower with a tire-shredding, 1400 lb-ft of torque. They claim the Bio Rocket goes from 0-60 mph in approximately 3.5 seconds, and with all that low-end torque, we tend to believe those numbers.
1965 Impala “Bio Rocket” Specs
Engine:
Engine power has been taken from 350-hp with the original gas V8 to 800-hp with the new PPE supercharged GM Chevy Duramax diesel engine. Produces 1400 foot-pounds of torque - which as much as a big rig.
0-60 in about 3.5 seconds, a quarter mile in about 11.5.
The original stock engine got 10-12 mpg, the new diesel engine gets about 22-24 mpg, thusly doubling the efficiency and burning clean bio-diesel in the process.
Runs on B-100 Bio-diesel that is 100% biodegradable. Bio-diesel also has lower emissions than petroleum diesel, reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 78% and not only runs the car, but cleans the engine at the same time.
Bio-diesel has a 3 to 1 energy yield. This means that you get 3 gallons out of each gallon it takes to make it.
Bio-diesel is available nationwide and decreases America’s dependence on foreign oil. Any diesel engine can run on bio-diesel without having to make any conversions.
