HELP!! New tips, wont start
« on: April 24, 2007, 08:31:45 pm »
01 TDI Jetta

Replaced tips and had injectors poped, re installed and cranked this thing for a good 20- 40 min now and nothing.

I'm getting some slight bubbling from #1 and #4 but that's it.

Any sugestions?

Not familiar with the TDI but I understand that there is quite a bit of electronic engine management system on it. You are not getting fuel so you need to sample your system to find out why. Suggest you start with a comprehensive block system diagram that will show the interlocks to the fuel system after the key is turned off. There is more there than just the shut off solenoid on the pump. I believe that they have a primary lift pump from the tank to the IP. Check that out too. Chances are if it worked before your work, it will run now. Probably a simple wire connector has been disturbed that is part of the start cycle.

Got it going, some pretty blue smoke leaked out of the starter but we finally got the air out and she fired.
