FS: '80 Dasher diesel wagon

So, I might be trading the project Diesel for one that already drives. But because of limited space, the project would need to go, so...

As it sits right now, it needs an engine (Seized? Can't turn it over by hand, certainly.) and some brake work, plus a good cleaning. I'd take $700 for it as it sits.

I'll do the brakework and cleaning, but my asking price will move up to $1000.

If you're willing to pay, I'll even source and replace the engine with a 1.6 (it presently has a 1.5 in it now), but then... well, we'll talk about price individually on that one. Be rest assured, such a swap would involve a new timing belt, roller, and water pump.

I'd be willing to deliver it, so long as we could work out something to cover my expenses (such as Fuel there and a way back home again). I keep meticulous receipts for such things, and don't believe in cheating people.

Anyone be interested in such a vehicle?

It's a wagon model, original paint looks like it was greenish (Needs a paint job), with a brown "leather" interior that's in quite good shape excepting the dashboard (Sun damaged to the point of being unsalvageable, really).

Story goes that things were stored in it by the longest standing PO, which kept the seats in good shape but allowed the dash to sun-crack.

Can't remember the mileage off the top of my head, but overall it's a straight body and very minimal rust. It's a southeastern car, so there isn't the underbody rot that is more common in the "salt states" (Where they at least get a proper winter and all).

There is a noticeable ding in the curbside rear of the car, but to my recollection it isn't creased, just dinged; a body shop could pull that out. Looks like someone opened a door or something straight into the side.

4-spd stick shift, with a good stiff clutch on it (I prefer them that way, for pedal feel).

Car is in South Carolina, where my profile location is . I suppose people try selling cars not at their location, but that didn't occur to me when I wrote this up.

Pictures I might be able to get this coming Sunday, when I actually have a day off (Transit bus operator).

Okay, so, this isn't a feeler anymore.

I keep looking at that Dasher and thinking more and more how much it isn't the project I really want to work on.

So someone else can have it, as well as take a stab at some of the parts I'd started gathering up for it.

I have:

1x 1980 Dasher diesel wagon, 4spd 1.5L (nonrunning, "seized"). Needs a good cleaning, a paintjob, a new engine and some brakework and it'd be quite a nice daily driver. Or hell, don't even bother with the paintjob and go as is, mottled green.

Assorted parts that I'll list in another post.

I will consider trades for a nice Fox wagon body. I don't care about the suspension or drivetrain, they can be crap, but I want the body to be straight, low-to-no rust (Absolutely no holes or "rot" anywhere, in what are usually cosmetic places). I'd like for the interior to at least be salvageable, but if I can get an otherwise pristine wagon body with a shot interior and else, well, that might be perfectly fine.

Also looking for a parts car Audi 5kq. Needs to have a good driveline and suspension (worn out suspension consumables are fine, struts/shocks that sort of deal), the rest can be so-so, "part-out" quality. Engine can be dead or alive.
