Hy Guys,
A while back I bought a fuel pump off a 93 jetta,( AAZ motor I was told). When I compare it to the other pumps I have lying around I see that the center section that fits into the big hole on the pump bracket sticks out about 14mm farther than the other pumps I have. If you could look at your motors and tell me if your pumps stick out the same. What I'm trying to find out is if the pully for the pump has an off-set to make the T-belt line up straight or can you tell if the pump bracket itself has an off-set to compensate for the protruding pump part. The pump # is 0 460 494 336.
Thanks to all in helping me solve this mystery.

if you're trying to use the AAZ pump on a 1.6... good luck!
I understand that the AAZ pulley is offset a corresponding amount and that a AAZ pump and AAZ pulley will work on a 1.6.
I havent done it myself, but others on hear have said this works. I have both AAZ and 1.6 pumps here so I can confirm that the snout of the AAZ pump is longer, but I dont have a AAZ pulley, so I can't confimr the offset.
Im not 100% sure about this but ill say it anyways....isnt there a difference in shaft length depending on whether the pulley is one or two piece???
