No reason to heat it up when mixing with regular diesel fuel.
Millage was about hte same. At first I wanted to say it was better due to the extra lubricy of the oil but I dont think it really changed either way.
The engine was quieter but that's about it.
I'll be running it in the jetta as soon as I get it running again.

you would probably not want to run more than 10% if not heating it up... that way you get the benefits of extra mileage and lubricity... the difference in thickness is quite a bit... the plunger would be stressed quite a bit if it was run on anything above 50%

what about ATF? we change out a lot of Allison auto's in fire trucks. they don't get many miles on them, and the fliud is fairly clean. the guy who gets our waste oil burns it in his furnace when its mixed in with all the motor oil. could ATF be used in the same manner or mixed with WEO and used?

I've been told not to use ATF because of the friction modifiers in it.
I've also heard of people using it when they change a fuel filter and had been doing so for the entire life of the car without problems.
I'm going to agree with jtanguay on heating the oil at the 50% mix part but not he 10%.
WEO mixed up to 40% or so isn’t any thicker than reg ol #2 fuel @ 40deg.
Run it without worries, I do. Just be sure to run it through a filter of some sorts so your not running crap through your IP.
forgot to mention in my earlier post I also have a handful of small but powerful magnets in my funnel below the paint strainers so if there is any metal shavings that get through the strainer they will get caught there.
I also have one stuck to the bottom of the spin on filter after the transfer pump on the way out to the container/fuel tank.

Something to consider, the hydraulic fluid could possibly eat up your fuel system seals and hoses if run at too high a ratio or if left sit in the system for an extended period.
