Hey gang,
After I toasted the engine in my Caddy last week, I went in search of a replacement engine. Lo and behold, I found the replacement engine...in a very nice looking car.
I have decided not to rip the heart out of my newly acquired Jetta (pics below) and turn that in to my daily driver. I will keep looking for a replacement TD or even better, a TDI to swap in to the Caddy. Meanwhile, it's more fun with TD's.
Let me know what you think!!!!
Yesterday was my perfect chance to give it the once over and try to get her home.
List of fixes:- The alternator's W-Terminal plug was bent pushing the exposed terminal against the housing...shorting out the alt. FIX: replaced the connector with an insulated one, straightened it out...all better
- Oil pressure gauge/sensor was put on half-a$$ed and was leaking...FIX: take it of, clean it up, and put it on the right way...no leaks.
It still needs some stuff:
- bulbs here and there
- rear passenger door doesn't open from outside
- front passenger tire doesn't like to get over 65 mph. :banghead:
- a good polish and wax job
- a little TLC on the headliner
After the repairs and in between rain storms, I snapped some pics:

Like I said earlier...I think the snowflakes and new hides from the Caddy are going on (likely tonight) and I hope to polish it up this weekend to give that paint a nice shine.
