So I've seen lots of posts about replacing nozzles, but couldn't find anything about how to do it. I'm assuming that it involves taking the injector apart, replacing the nozzle, and putting it back together.
Is it really that easy? What about pop testing afterward? If I do my own nozzles will I need to test/shim them to match the set? Mind you, I'm pretty handy with intricate parts and fixing things that the manual says not to. The tools are a big part of any job though.
Just how techincal is this whole nozzle replacement thing, and would it be easier/more cost effective to just go to a shop for a rebuilt matched set?
Pop testers show up on ebay occasionally for about $200 US. I've read you can make your own with a pump jack though.
Injector cleaner kits also show up for $50, I think it is just a bunch of different brushes though
Hmm... $200 for pop tester. $50 injector cleaner. $?? shims.
Sounds like the $30 per injector (after core charge) from the local shop would be better for now. Then I'd have a long time to get my hands on a pop tester before the need for another overhaul.
Thanks yet again!
