turns out the signal relay was toast, good call doug. got one from the shed. signals work now. also had a shattered bulb in a housing and a shaky connector at the stalk.

corroded relay connections and fuse connections contributed to a lot of the other issues. used the heat gun and dried everything (although i didn't actually notice any more moisture in the fusebox... this was precautionary) then cleaned all the relay and fuse connections and put in all new fuses and bulbs.

lights all work. glows work. getting permanent seatbelt and battery lights on the dash.. but that's for another day. i'm not plugging in the block heater. if it doesn't start easily it stays home tomorrow and i'll replace some glows tomorrow night.
