Cliff and my car soon!
« on: February 13, 2007, 07:16:51 pm »
I have almost had it with this dang car, thursday got gelled, friday it was fine... monday It seemed like it was gelling again. I managed to get home, find out im sucking in air. change filter and line underhood everything seems fine when I beat it around town.

Morning I go to drive get half way up the mountain and stall, come home it's sucking in air like crazy. replace line from underhood to plastic line (thought it was metal) and now have vinyl hose all the way back to the plastic and up over it, I need a barbed nipple to make a good seal or if that doesn't work I have a second tank (was for vegie) that I will be setting up and just running that. It is too cold out but at least I am out of the elements but still in a unheated area.

my gasser is getting performance upgrades or else I would just drive that but NOOOOOOO

one of those dang days

just get a solid state fuel pump... it will add some performance to your car too !!! theres a ton selling on ebay right now... from facet!

dont forget to put the pump right at the rear with the fuel tank. that way it stays primed all the time!

SOLID full of crap...

Put it all back together without the screen since I run 2 filters 1 for larger items and then the stock one.

That would be the screen in the bottom of the fuel pickup/sending unit in a 85 and newer diesel fuel tank blocked entirely full of this black gooey crud. It is probably the original tank and has 260k on the body...

A access panel in your trunk can get you too it but I needed more torque to get mine out and I was replacing the fuel lines so I dropped the tank and put it back up myself with 9 gallons of fuel in it and 1 jack

It is on the right side of your trunk area 4 screws or something like that, large channel locks would do the trick but I needed a pipe wrench since I didn't wanna strip the plastic nut.

Does it pull out with the fuel gauge sender or do you need t reach around in there and pull it out?
