Hello!
I am looking for an alternator. I have a 1990 Jetta N/A with A/C that I recently bought, it has a GM alt, yuck!

Thanks for your help!
Doug

i'd say too...if your GM one is nicely mounted...stock style, etc. You might even be pulling extra amperage out of it as well... (if you have the wiring to support it...). vs. a stock 65 or 90 amp VW unit. I've seen some interesting alternator rigs though on VW's....kinda scary...so it depends ...

The main problem is that the person that hooked up the alt didnt leave any way for the belt to be tightened.  I am hoping that some brackets from a gasser VW will allow me to adjust. :D

I'll let ya know how it goes!

I have one and the brackets too. Unfortunately, I'm still using it.
Converting from AC to nonAC.
It won't be available until Dr. Diesel returns from his journey to the other side of the planet.
