LDA pivot pin
« on: December 26, 2006, 08:40:58 pm »
So I have pulled my LDA off my 1.6 pump and will be putting it on my 1.9.  I Knocked out the pivot pin that has the two balls at each end holding it in.  I did this to replace the o-ring between the enrichment pin and the lever.  What is normally done to hold the pivot pin back in?  Tap and put set screws in the holes?  Reuse the ball bearings?

If the ball bearings have not been out many times the housing will be tight enough most times for the orignal ball's to be installed and have no trouble sealing, just peen over the housing to retain them again. As long as the ball bearings are tight going back in then there won't be an issue. If the ball is loose in the housing then you would be better to seal it off with bolts instead, however like I said this never really needs to be done in most cases!

They seem tight still but I have not tryed to put it back together yet.  I guess worst case I pull the LDA off again and tap them.
Thanks
