Good Idea?

A friend of mine is selling his 84 Rabbit. The guy he bought it from gave him a ton of extra parts. Since he's selling it he gave me first dibs on the parts. He has a set of (i guess front and rear) GTI sway bars including the hardware. He wants $25 a piece. Is this a good deal? I don't know what is involved with mounting them or anything but it sounds good to me.

25 dollars is pretty good, they're fairly easy to stick on.  some people don't like putting the front ones on, it all depends on who you want your car to handle, if you put the rear one on and not the front one it will make the car ass happy and like to over steer more not like out of control, especially if you don't change anything else,  i would probably just stick them both on, once i feel like doing more suspension mods on my jetta i'm gonna try with and with out a front sway bar, i already spent too much on coil overs haha

Trevor,
How do you like the coilovers? Which ones are they? I have Neuspeed 1-1.5" lowering springs and KYB inserts/ shocks and they are too harsh and offer too little travel for the street, so I'm putting coilovers on my short list. Just looking for other folks opinions. Thanks, Derek

i bought 4 lowering springs and some dropzone struts n shocks.  pretty stiff ride, and corners really really well :)

i also have the rear upper shock bar, but have yet to install my front upper strut tower bar, and the lower strut bar.

i might consider buying some sway bars in the future after i install my bars :)
