Well I spent time this evening helping a long time friend of mine get his jetta.  During this time I also cut the rad support on my car in order to fit a mk5 euro (for now) TDI intercooler.  Just to let you know the intercooler does have to be physical cut unless you want to use alot of factory piping.

Before fitting intercooler into newly cut rad support

Trial fit to mock up piping

Intercooler piping layout

for the money I spent on the intercooler and related piping I think it will be a great FMIC for my needs.  From what I've read on TDIClub, it's very effiicient   and flows well for it's size.

Bumper partially mounted so I can figure out where to trim the lower valance.

Valance trimmed bumper now bolted in place along with the grille...

Final location of the driver side charge pipe (to the intake manifold)

Final exterior parts are to rewire the factory fogs and trim the lower grille to fit around the lower half of the intercooler...

I'm going to mount small hole chicken wire along the front edge of the IC to protect from debris.  As for curbs and sidewalks, I've been use to reverse parking everywhere for years.  Those foglights are the same ones the car roll of the boat with 21yrs ago, so I'd better not brake them...and yes that is a mk5 tdi intercooler.  I've had it almost a year now...
