Yeah, the heater core is in...
I did the rad as well.......
not fun... but, done.......
A couple of times I was a little stumped...
but, I got throughit... it is hard to see.....
I followed the recall instructions... the link
is in this thread....... I didn't remove the dash...
I kind of wanted to anyway but, I was doing the
rad as well...
So I ripped out the rad... then I ripped out the
heater core.. I borrowed a friends garage.....
He came in..... His eyes were bulging out of his
head.."he didn't make any comments but, he was
surprised..... But he has seen me rip stuff apart before
so he made some jokes about it............
HERE IS A QUESTION to throw out here..............
It is definetly circulating way better.......
the heat cranks....... the fan on the rad
will kick on now.... where as before it would not.....
that bottom of the rad near the fanswitch never got hot....
now it does..................
I drive up this one hill everyday. it is the major hill around
here.... it is nothing however compared to out west........
Never the less it is still a hill.... maybe a 5 minute climb
on an interstate..... I-84.........
Well, the temp gauge still rises slightly...
AND if I let is sit and run it rises up............
the fan kicks on........ but, it is pretty high until
it kicks on........
I did a ways back stick a turkey thermometer in
the round plastic fill tank... it read 190 degrees.....
I just don't think it is dissipating heat as good as
it should...... I put a hot thermostat in the last time
I put one in...... Ok, so it should run alittle hotter....
but, I question why the temp goes up............
it doesn't stay................................................
maybe a cooler temp switch on the fan...............
Any ideas?
