i would just follow the procedures of the one website, he says not to rev the piss out of them, but you want to make sure you run it up to say 2k with it the floor, then let it compression brake down, then wind it out 3k, and let it wind down, and up to 35 and let it wind down, just want to make certain you seat the rings,  don't take what i've typed here though, gotta find that site, has alot of good information

i used good ol 15-40 rottella dino oil
as soon as it lit off,and i had good oil pressure
i brought the revs up to 2000 or so,and held it there for 15-20 mins
once in a while blipping the throttle hard to load the rings, like 1 or 2 times a minute
i could quickly hit it to wot and let off before it was goin to 3000-3500

then after the initial run in
i changed the oil, prelubed it again
then took it out for a drive
you can let it rev some
 3000 is ok,if its not loaded hard(wot)IMO
its not revs that necessarily hurt it,its the amount of load you put on it

i couldnt wait more than a 20-30 minute drive before i "got on it"
but it had so much power before 3000 it was plenty to keep me happy during the break in
oh,i made a preluber so i would have oil psi before i cranked it over
Throttle cables ftw
