Caddy vs Civic

I was cruising along on the 4-lane minding my own business when a Civic coupe with fartcan and 3 riders pulls alongside and laugh/point. They drop down a gear and I stay in 5th. They never had a chance and, when they read "diesel" on the tailgate, the smiles were gone too.
I must say the old truck was in fine form.

Stewardc, I drive the same 4 lane as you and I love smokin' those fools in their Civics.

Your story is even better cause they were laughin' and pointin'.

Glad to hear the old truck was in fine form.  8)

It was absolutely priceless when they all peered closely at the tailgate, mouthed "diesel???" in unison, then looked very embarassed.

well here in the land of northern ireland a lot of ppl drive jap cars especially 1.5 civics with vtec in 3 foot lettering along the sides.any they really dont like it when a 1.3 polo (another version of a rabbit to you americans)g40 sails past them   with the g-lader screaming.  i know its not diesel but it really pisses of the jap car owners especially when you turn up at their rolling road/dyno days and smoke most of them.

polo isn't a rabbit at all.  g40s are cool though.. but i guess i only think that since tis a euro only motor.

funny enough the 1.5L vtec engine is less fuel efficient than a 1.9TDI engine... reason? the 1.5 vtec revs higher to make the same hp figures... thus the 1.5 sucks back more fuel while the TDI is making all kinds of low end grunt...

diesel wins again!  a 1.3L turbo motor would need to be built really good to last long...  but i can see quite a bit of potential in the upper rpm ranges for sure :)

stewardc - I am always looking for other people with Giles pumps for testimonials. Just got my Giles pump in the mail Saturday. So is yours mounted on a 1.6 or 1.9 td? I have a 1.6 with Techtonics tuning downpipe and full 2.25 inch exhaust. I am also adding an audi 5000 intercooler with the Giles pump (hopefully done by late next week). Does yours have an intercooler? Got any pics of your caddy? Thanks! I hope to be posting smoke tales here too someday...
