1.9 European crank problem - Does it have one?

Does the european 1.9 have the same crank problem as the canadian version? I thought I read somewhere that it doesn't.

Any thoughts?

All the 1.9TD engines were manufactured in germany, as far as I know they are all the same.

 VW remanufactured, industrial and new replacement engines manufactured after '98 or so have the new style crank nose and pulley.
