It sounded bad. The turbo had been getting ouder & louder, and would make a really aweful high pitch racket if I drove above 120.

If you look closely, the vanes are actually melted, not damaged from contact.

Aww crap... I hope that's not what's wrong with mine. I've been thinking it's the alternator.  And I guess I'd have to remove it to check it eh?

Naw, it's probably your alternator  :wink:

you could try taking off the alternator belt to see if the noise goes away... just don't drive it like that enough to overheat it. Just around the block, watch out for kids!
