Help with Fiat Croma pump

A buddy with a tdi ( mecanical pump Fiat Croma) in his Vanagon is
not impressed with the results.

Is it possible, from the Bosch numbers on the pump, to find out
if the pump was from a di or idi engine???

This is a good pump, 20mm shaft, 11mm plunger, proper boost pin
and supposedly comes from a 2.4l engine. It should produce decent
power.

What say you experts??

i realy think this pump comes from a 1.9tdi.
the 1.9tdi or also called turbo D.I.D was the first car with a D.I, it got 90hp
Fiat croma also had a 2.5 bit this was a t IDI engine with a K26.
sorry if i make a mistake, but the croma 1.9tdi got a VNT25 turbo.
tomorow i look to my croma pump to confirm, Sebzero from the french section should also know this

This pump, ............ 414 059, is installed on FIAT croma 1.9 TD i.d. 1988 to 1992, and on the croma 2.5TD 1989 and 1990,   and some croma 2.0 TD i.d.

With larger injector nozzle, this pump works well, the cam plate is not the best for the engine VW TDI, but rather good, one can located between the cam plate of AAZ and TDI.

If not, you can put the cam plate of VW TDI in your fiat pump, but as regards the control lever, that will be one can limiting, but it will go it much better is a fact.

That would be good to replace the advance timing piston, and the cap, because that of pump FIAT does not offer much displacement.

I'm using a croma pump....out of the box...it will run great until 3K...then it starts shutting down right?

It's the governor.....and rotate the fuel pin or get an aftermarket pin like I did to get more fuel under boost.  The governor is one big spring...I bound a few of the coils with some fine stainless steel wire and now it flies.  

I'm also running ,205's and that seems plenty I can make it smoke like a pig if I want.  I can get to 100mph in no time...turbo will affect performance..alot of people get the t3 from a 1.6td...I'm using a smaller k14 running to 22psi max..intercooled of course

peugeot tdi pump....

this is my first post....and wondering if the peugeot pump I just bought off of ebay will be a good candidate for a tdi M?....its out of a 1995 peugeot 405 with a 1.9 tdi engine....dont have it in my hands yet...(its on the way from UK via DHL) but as soon as I do I'll post the part number....thanks....

Peugeot 405 1.9 TD engine, 1992 a 1997:

Y do not have good parts inside this pump, 9mm plunger, came plate as the same profile has 1.9TD AAZ.....  etc.....

The only good thing, this pump has an 20mm main shaft, for the remainder, it is really not a good pump.

so the plunger is 9mm....ok will the cam plate and plunger from the tdi vw fit without modification?....how will it run?......I'm glad it has the 20mm shaft....and the boost aneroid....have you worked with these pumps before...?....

Give me the reference number of this pump before buying it, i will check with your number if it is 20mm.

The TDI came plate and plunger fit in this pump,  but, that will not go correctly, you will need another control lever, régulator valve, advance timing mechanism, etc... of another pump.

It is really difficult to mount a mechanical pump with parts of 3-4 different pump, and the adjustment is not also simple for going well.

Try to find another pump better suitable, and less modification.

hmmm....well I actually purchased the pump last week....its already on it's way from the queens country....I only paid $10.49 usd for the pump....but the shipping was about ten times that....should be here monday....I'll post the numbers to you when I have it in hand....if not a good candidate for my tdi M.....then maybe good for my 1.6td project caddy.....

ok, 10.49$ it's not expensive, I would pay until ace 100$ for a pump with 20mm just for the core.  :wink:

I looked at more in detail, it have 5 model of pump for the 1.9TD Peugeot 405 1992-1997, and the came plate reference number is the same as the came plate 1.9TD AAZ.

The injector core is similar too, thus, the 1.9TD peugeot is an IDI engine.

sweet :D ....so at least I have a good base to start my tdi M conversion....the engine I'm trying to get was burned lightly....so the harness for the pump electrics is somewhat cooked....but I believe the innards' are good....

Hello.
I found a 404059 from a Croma 2.5 TD, the same engine that shares the 414059 pump with a 1.9 engine.
It's strange for me to see a DI pump on a IDI engine.
How many Croma DI pump are there? 5?

I can't find where that pum is from. Probably the last number isn't an 8 but a 6 or 9 ruined.
That's the 0 460 414 048 pump full code VE4/11F1500R275-1
It's for a 3000 rpms engine and by lookinkg at the diagram I found on a site the LDA is missing.
There is the parts list too.
