Diesel subaru thread
« on: October 04, 2006, 11:19:49 pm »
Just a link to the diesel subaru project I'm working on

http://www.ultimatesubaru.net/forum/showthread.php?t=65555
this is where I'll be posting the updates regularly.  I'll bump this thread whenever I make some serious progress on the diesel engine part.

I'm putting a VW 1.4 liter PD TDI into it.  Only 75 horsepower, compared to 72 for the stock subaru engine.  But it's 130 foot lbs at 1800rpm, instead of 90ft lbs at 2400rpm.  Should be pretty sweet.

Zeke

And as of yet I haven't heard even a single complaint

Sorry, their website is down right now.  Going to a new server or something.  I'll fix it when they get it back up.

USMB had to switch domains... they're now at ultimatesubaru.org

So the proper URL is: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65555

Well....  don't have the funds or time right now, so nothing's happened for a while.  Plus it's a bit snowy at my house now.   But, come spring, I hope to be in better shape financially, and the snow will all be melted, so I can start working on it again I hope.

Sorry to hear that you are a bit behind.  I am keenly interested in this as I plan to build a dune buggy later next year with a Subaru AWD system but a VW diesel engine.  Please keep us posted.
