• I had one running on 16.4:1. even with 30psi, it was kinda sluggish. dropped two sizes in headgasket, and it felt better, but still not enough. I think probably 19 or 20:1 might be a good middle ground for dedicated high boost performance setups.

• can you explain the reason why the engine can better perform when it got lower compression?

• The idea is that with lower compresion you can feed it more boost/air before it goes KABOOOM on your morning commute.

  Keeping all the added volume in the prechamber helps greatly with starting and low RPM running. Using head gaskets or machining of the rods/pistons to lower the compression leaves a lot of dead space that isn't really involved in the combustion process, the air in there is wasted and tubulence is reduced because the "squish"into the prechamber is lost. 18:1 is probably workable if the prechambers are enlarged to get it. Andy has done this, lots and lots of work though...

• is CR lowering only needed when you planning to drive +30psi?

  nice single rounds with crystal clears+red citylights
  i got a upper grille spoiler,i gotta paint it
  the car is filthy,i need to detail it,its been stored for a year,this is washed at least
  
  
  i just took blackout tape to make the fog light area look like a duct
  i used vht tint on the front markers+banana lamps
  
  its dirty inside,but it will clean up mint
  got orig floormats
  i put the stereo below my right knee

  now i cant see to tune it,im thinkin about moving it to the passengers side kneebar area(i have a spare kneebar i can cut up)
  thats cause i put the guages in the radio spot with a panel from new south
  
  i wanna take out the cheap repro rad support+bead blast and repaint it,this will clean up nice,i sprayed most of it down with cosmoline
  its just a 1.9 idi with a 1.6 head,and altitude compensation

  ive got a set of oz monte carlo wheels for it too(15+7)
  its my cherried  out pimp ride for when i just wanna look good,and not go fast

  i just got it out of storage+i have some minor stuff to fix on it,the red car that is.
  the throttle sticks ,its def. at the pump,im gonna remove the springs+clean em up+stuff
  the shifter is stiff,should be fun to fix,cause i may have to remove the exhaust heat shield in the tunnel
  and the brakes are real spongy+sink,i may need a master,i didnt see any leaks

• I had a hard time finding that weatherstripping as well.
  
  So last week I used "Goop" contact adhesive.  This is some sort of outdoor formulation.  I used tape every 4 inches to hold it tight and inplace (mine had come loose in one long strip) the entire length.  It is on the passengerside so I do not know how well it will do with the doors in use (like the drivers side would).  But it is holding up very well so far.

• damn maybe they dont have it... I do know they have all the other parts I've ever needed...
  
  i remember finding a site that specifically had weatherstripping and bumpers for vw golf/jettas...
  
  not a bad idea since thats probably how my car is leaking
